I'm at the halfway point and the story is plodding along. There is a lot of distance between the reader and the FMC. She feels very aloof. And so does the budding love story. At one point she Googles the love interest but buries the result of the search 2 pages later after the author describes the politics of the French parent company's CEO and those of the son. There was talk of Turkey and the EU. I got sleepy.
