So far the book is confusing, the heroine has rarely shown any authentic emotions being a captive and the shallow descriptions of how beautiful everyone looks is annoying and fills to much space.

At this point in the story there was a coup de theatre twice. The first one's reasoning was legitimate but the timing was just random. As they new that information all along. So why now act like the Brady family in comparison to ruthless killers a second ago!! It's simply unripe. The characters are inkonsistent and don't rule the story. It seems like the story rules the characters and that weakens the book.
