The flashback scene in Chapter 4 was such a clumsy, unnecessary thing that it's making it hard for me to take KoD seriously (Herne even less. Doesn't this guy make a living telling people how to be better writers? This would the third out of four books of his that feels like he doesn't practice what he preaches)
