Most people would assume a religious rule to be boring, maybe so; but not for me. Fr. Jerome Bertram FSA did a good job translating, imo, and his introductions to each rule were informative. I never would have guessed, just by the cover, that the Rule of Aachen is virtually unrelated to the Rule of Chrodegang, except that they both regulate canons and share provenance with the Franks (and Benedictine inspiration).
