The main character Stanley Yelnats.
The story takes place in camp green lake which has no lake but just 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep holes which is because camp green lake is actually a camp for kids that got sent there to build character and behave when they go back home.
A big event in the holes is when Stanley finds tressure in camp green lake.
The book is also told by chronological narrative.

The visualization I saw when I read my book was a page when the boy was dumping water on to the dirt while he was so thirsty, and this was a visualization that I saw because I went though that before when I had to lose the water when I was very thirsty, because I had water in my backpack when I was hiking but it went bad, so I had to just dump it out and survive.

A connection I made with my book is a connection about my life.
The book holes is about a kid who goes to this town and has to dig a hole as a punishment, though I haven't been punished like that, I have dug holes in the sand at a beach, and from the cover you can see he digs holes in sand! This is a connection I made and chose because when I was little I loved to dig holes, not for punishment but for fun.
