The writing is strong, but I really didn’t like the story. More vampir-ish than witchy, and I can’t get my time back. I’ve maybe grown out of the not-quite romantic, not quite scary horror tale. The gory stuff she added seemed out of place to the rest of the writing. More monster story than witchcraft. Witches don’t eat hearts and drink blood. And heads should stay on shoulders.
