I'm calling it now, it's the uncle. Yadriel thinks he's a nice guy, but he's the murderer. He took the jaguar daggers and is trying to get power through Bahlam.
My second hypothesis is that maybe Julian isn't actually dead, just kicked out of his body. Less confident of that theory though.

Hate to admit it, but I'm frustrated with the main character. I want to validate Yadriel; it does matter that his family is misgendering him, but someone just died, the whole community is in panic mode -- now is NOT the time to make things about you.
In all fairness, when emotions are running high like this it makes sense that this is the point when the MC would get fed up and walk away.
