I love that this their relationship is built purely on trust. The timing was never right for them to get together when they were teenagers, but as soon as Daisy needs help later in life, she knows exactly who to go look for. Cash might be a giant, grumpy recluse but she sees him for who he always has been and throughout the story you really get to see that shine through.
