Just finished ch 30 and Patroclus dies. It’s officially the beginning of the end. Sad to see how one man’s pride caused the death of thousand. Whether that’s King Agamemnon for not giving back the stolen priestess after causing the war and taking Briseis. Or Achilles for feeling so affronted that he stopped fighting with the Greeks. Which led to Patroclus taking up his armor in his stead. :(

With the conclusion of ch 16: Achilles, Patroclus, and his troops are sailing for Troy. Interesting that he knows of his prophecy to die, yet still sets sail. As he’d rather die a hero than live to waste away an irrelevant. Of course, his devoted little sidekick Patroclus is there too. Both believing that Achilles will die and he’ll outlive him.

Achilles and Patroclus kissed for the first time around 17% of the way. And are fully together at the 26% mark. From initially meeting when both boys were 10, they’re now 16 and leaving Chiron to potentially go to war…?
