There was a lot of discussion while reading the two chapters read today. We were not able to read more due to time constraints exacerbated by our passionate debates about the contents. We are drawing to the end as I think there are likely two or three chapters left and those will be read tomorrow. We latterly talked about the evidence of someone who was to have loved but acted with hatred in their "loving".

The hot debate that happened while we read these chapters when juxtaposing some real life people with fictional people, real life personalities with fictional personalities and real life decisions with fictional life decisions, emotions ran high and Her Heart, my debut novel was responsible for inciting this heated debate because of opposing views, so there were two camps. We read many chapters today because tomorrow starts my work week and we will only be able to fit 30 minutes to just an hour for our reading.

We read 2 chapters each today but because my 2nd chapter was rather short, I read 3 chapters. Reading the book this way is so enjoyable and my young nephew is learning so much with such enjoyment. But he is very impatient and wants to keep reading because Rakgadi Sikose wrote this memoir so beautifully that reading it neither feels tiresome, nor overly aggravating due to its upsetting contents that hit close to home

So, I decided to read this book out loud together with my nephew taking turns to read a chapter each and it is helping to not only make reading it enjoyable but for us as a family to help him understand the country's history better.
