The crew now suffers from scurvy. Unknown to them, the cure for scurvy was within their grasp with the help of fruits, citrus, and vegetables. Scurvy is caused by a vitamin C deficiency. A lot of men suffered from such a simple solution. Eat your vitamins.

The Wager’s old captain David Kidd died. In his last entry he envisions poverty famine death and destruction for the rest of the expedition.

The outbreak of typhos sounded terrible. Even more so doctors didn’t even know where it was from or how to solve it. Sounds like a dreadful situation.

Byron seems like an adventurous boy ready to prove himself. I like the gritty descriptions of sealife and status on the Wager.

Learning more about the ships. The Wager is lackluster compared to the other Man-of-Wars.
