None of these “events” make sense?? Why are they doing a 13 day long ??exhibition?? I’m not even sure what to call it. Shouldn’t they be killing Titans or something? All of these mandatory competitions/training/etc are indistinguishable from one another and serve no discernible purpose.

Horrifically bad writing. Patroclus and Achilles are virtually useless to the storyline- the marketing of mentors or professors is laughable. She isn’t even trying to convince us that they could happen. The random fortune cookie quotes?? The freakish obsession with a calculator that is actually her diary?
