I wrote a very short will when I was nine: I leave my telescope to Rupert. I thought about Rupert looking at stars their light refracted by tears.

Hope you're enjoying it Katia"Oh, I Loved it, Emily. Read in one day yesterday. It is not for everyone I guess but I like this type of narrative and his sense of humour (or should we said sarcasm?) is really up my valley. Also one can feel his vulnerability and it is poignant.. It has reminded me a lot Autoportrait. Also his description of food and body are so visceral. I should be repulsed but I was mesmerised somehow.

That's a fab and incredibly accurate comparison (having read that as well, I fully agree). I actually really like that sort of 'style' as well as well. Really want to read Levé's Suicide at some point, but afraid it might be a too depressing read . Either that, or I'm worried I will not be able to be sympathetic enough, and it becomes a sort of feel-bad read? In any case, I'll have to save that for a later date . Best to finish 'Flower' first, I reckon : ) (esp. now that I know how much you loved it, Katia)

Thank you, Emily. Ive read Suicide. It was visceral, but somehow more hopeful than I thought it would be as he was letting everything go sort of way. But I totally understand your reservations. It has to be the right time. Plus I liked Autoportrait more in my case. "Flower' still 'rings' in my years. He should have called it "Song' instead. Though quite a strange one:-) The voice is so persuasive. I need to write a review, but I keep getting distracted:-)
