I’m really struggling to not DNF this book. The first three were sooo good but this one is dragging and we have lost all the emotional depth and development between our main characters. It’s all about him trying to stop her from losing her humanity and killing everyone while also being her personal blood and body slave. Ugh, turning it into a chore and duty rather than love and genuine connection. Gross!

All the things I loved about this series are being stripped from this book. The devotion between the FMC and MMC is slowly deteriorating. The power imbalance between them is causing a divide. The whole fae vs humans dynamic is secondary to inner kingdom division for the throne. Then all of a sudden the antagonist wants to be friends, help, and gives up his claim to the throne???
