Kylie is 53% done

This is the kind of romance I prefer. Virtually no gushy stuff. Yay I’m not a fan of romance as a genre, I keep telling myself, but I seem to read a lot of it. Why are so many historic australian or war novels romances??

I would like to give it 4 stars but the ending felt a bit rushed and almost unfinished. So it’s a 3.5 star read for me. I would like to read more from this author.

Just the right amount of romance. I enjoyed the historical side of it, early life in Australian gold mining towns was really interesting. I could picture Sovereign Hill while I was reading. The ‘now’ sections were good too, I learned a bit about modern day mining company practices and life in small towns with a long history. I even shed a tear or two.
