in desperate need of some fun after the dullness that was frost's poetry - the crows are just the right ones for the job!

One thing about me? I eat this story up every single time. It‘s my third time reading and I’ve watched the TV show about four times. This shit always slaps.

I literally forgot everything that happened at the Ice Court. Nina and Matthias really got me good. Also, I am scared af for Inej now. I only vaguely remember the plot of Crooked Kingdom. Gah. The stress is real.

I forgot just how many good Kanej moments are in these first 200 pages. Also, Jesper is everything. Whenever he opens his mouth I am beaming!

Would you recommend this to a non YA non fantasy reader? I’ve always wondered whether I would like it…

The fantasy elements are comparatively light, so it's not hard to understand the world or the magic system (how the powers of the Grisha work etc.), which could be a pluf for a non-fantasy reader. I also think it's one of the better YA novels out there that still hold up for me as an adult... but then again, I hold a lot of nostalgia when it comes to the series bc I first read it 8 years ago when I was basically its target audience. Nowadays it's veery rare for me to pick up a YA novel I'm unfamiliar with so I understand your hesitation...
