I don't know why KJ Charles isn't more mainstream/universally beloved* - her writing is beautiful and hilarious and heartbreaking. I randomly picked up The Magpie Lord at the library, and after just two chapters I knew I had to check it out because I was already hooked.

*this isn't quite true, I do know why - it's because she writes gay romances, mostly m/m, but man the rest of the world is missing out!
