Darcy and Elizabeth at the Netherfield ball, having a conversation. FINALLY, they are able to discuss all the misconceptions and gossip that was circulating about Meryton [thanks to Mrs. Bennet and her dear sister Mrs. Philips]. Elizabeth was mortified when she heard about it.

Oops! After returning from St. Albans, and his visit with Georgiana, Darcy is somewhat disconcerted with the rumors that Miss Elizabeth is engaged to her cousin Mr. Collins. Caroline was quick to inform him of this local gossip. Yes, she is helpful in that way. Bless her heart.

Our author gave us a most outstanding glimpse into Darcy's family history. I really enjoyed this part. Darcy is at Netherfield and he and Bingley were discussing his relatives. Caroline is trying to encourage Darcy when he wants no part of her. He does seem to be leaning toward a pair of fine eyes and is trying to make-up for his insulting comment.
