some time ago, I listened to a Binchtopia episode in which I learned of Spotify’s ghost artist program - where Spotify pays artists a flat fee to create songs that they would push in popular playlists without using the artists actual names. It makes sense that Spotify wants its users to listen to what is cheaper to license. Interested in how this is shaping our tastes and the industry’s take on it. Capitalism.
