J is in a best of 5 match tier 2-2. He is exhausted but manages to win offscreen. Celebrating with the boys after he can’t think of anything besides Ardee. When his friends bring her up and talk about “plunging her with my sword” he loses a gasket and threatens to gut them like a chicken.
He storms off and hears them debating what the hell just happened. They joke that he loves her and he realizes it’s true

He turns her bones to water and sets the brothers insides on fire, flames breath from his mouth and eyes as he is turned to ash. Y tells F that they are eaters. He asks if her hand hurts and she tells him she never feels pain. That’s the reason they are after her

She shoots the brother through the chest, which annoys him. She shoots him again through the shoulder and realizes there is no blood. He is fast, very fast. He starts choking her before his sister reminds him that they need her alive. He breaks her finger.

A voice interrupts them, Y has returned. They talk about the profit, he accuses them of breaking the second law, no eating of human flesh

Ferro, agreeing to wait for yulwei, runs away. She runs hard and fast, through a river and far beyond. She falls alseep next to a tree thinking about how she tricked Y.
She wakes up to hear people talking about her. They say they can smell her and sense her nearby. She runs but is surrounded by 5 soldiers. She kills them all between the bow and sword. Boss lady. Two others, a brother and sister are left.

The man also had a crow with him that seemed somewhat intelligence.

Logen wakes up to find a manic man in his apartment. The man is a navigator of some renowned and very high opinion of himself. He won’t stop talking. Bayez hired him to help them on a journey and asks him and Logen to go find a ship. The man almost gets them killed by waiving a purse around in seedy area

On his way out he asks about bayes and he finds that there is a mother researcher there who cares about history. We learn about bayez basically making the city along side the maker who allegedly built the buildings and the great tower. Bayez killed the maker and locked the key to the great tower. This is going to play some big importance down the road. This whole chapter is likely seeded with hints

Glotka watches body fence. Rather than relying on light movements like the rest he is brutal fast and cunning. He learns the benefits of his opponent quickly and attacked with heavy then average steels. Bashing again and again until he over powers the person.
Glotka wins some money.

He goes to the university to learn about the explotion but comes away disappointed after a sparklers show

L‘s old crew find a family+ children dead hung up. They tried to find who had done and realize that people collecting taxes for the King of the North. They kill them and get the lay of what’s happening, which is a lot since the last time they were in civilization. The weakest says that he will go to warn the king about the oncoming army from the mountains as no one else will be there while attacking the south.

It’s not even really close he feels like the other man is sluggish and slow and oafish. That night while everyone is celebrating, West tells him that they have 40 days before they ship out he had received a letter from Artie in the morning saying meet me in the Square at night. He debates this internally because he knows it’s a bad decision, but he’s head over heels for this girl he goes they make out

Jazz wakes up in the morning shaves admires himself, a lot, really a shocking amount. He starts to eat breakfast, but is too nervous to he heads to the arena where he sees the other contestants he is very nervous. They can hear the crowd clamoring it’s insanely loud even behind doors. They walk out to massive applause, then head into a staging room. He is the first fight, and he wallops his opponent.
