Chapter 14 is hilarious! Lord Mount Dunstan happens to meet an American young man outside his park gate and invites him to lunch.
“He was markedly unlike an English youth of his class…he was at his ease to quite an amazing degree…He found indeed a gleeful point in the joke of the incongruousness of his own presence amid such surroundings” (249).
