No Easy Way Done Concluded!
This was an emotional but hopeful ending to the Black Mask Saga. Bruce’s words of advice to Selina as she relapses into her bad habits was heartwarming & helped provide her with the push she needed to heal & reconcile with Holly. Reading Karons section & how she deals with Hollys relapse was deeply human & really fleshes her out more. Brubaker, you are amazing.

As always, the narration & self reflection is top notch. It’s heartbreaking seeing this cast so broken and how their inability to communicate is affecting their relationships with one another. As much as i dislike Slamlina, Slam’s feelings about Selina & how it mirrors Craig’s feelings is so interesting & complex to read. Superbly written as always.

The way Brubaker writes the emotional aftermath of what was a tragic & high stakes story is amazing. We focus on the different ways the main cast is coping with the events of Relentless but mainly on the conflicting relationship of Slam & Selina. The character dynamics at play here are really well written. (still not a fan of Slamlina)
Overall, a 4.5 ⭐️/5.

Relentless concluded!
This was a well done conclusion to this arc. The art & action in this were sweeping. The dialogues between Selina & Black Mask & Sylvia were engaging. Despite that it was a tragic end due to the loss & scarring of Selina’s loved ones. I’m not sure how to feel about the ending unfortunately. I’m not a huge fan of Slamlina and the kiss felt badly placed.

Relentless Part 4 done!
The pieces have fallen into place & the mystery has unraveled. Black Mask was absolutely terrifying this issue. It’s things like Selina comforting Holly, coming to terms with her faults & immediately pursuing the issue without question that makes me love her so much. Seeing Holly get beat up & Sylvia showing up made me so angry. I’m looking forward to the payback.

Relentless Part 3 done!
Wow, the stakes are really piling up now. Selina wrestles with her pain & efforts made so far after losing the east end centre and searches for what really happened. The rest of this story is going to wreck her further considering Maggie goes missing too & Slam is in danger. I’m honestly terrified for everyone. I feel real bad for Simon.

Relentless Part 2 done!
I loved the interaction with Selina & Maggie and how Selina is willing to make amends as well as Maggie. The way Holly & the rest of the supporting cast guide Selina to be better is always so well written. The moments of lightheartedness we got at the opening party was fun too. Then, chaos ensues! Screw Sylvia. Hot trash. Feeling bad for Simon though:/

Relentless Part 1 done!
It was nice seeing more of Selina’s past with the Alleytown gang and how it shaped her today. Slam & Holly’s interactions in this book were fun to read & and a dynamic i’m very looking forward to seeing more of. I’m not entirely sure how i feel about a potential Slam & Selina relationship. ALSO, MAGGIE IS HEREE. Whoops, seems like Sylvia is the traitor after all.

Proper Planning done!
Black Mask looks a lot better now than he did in his first appearance. He’s also extremely menacing which reminded me how dark this was. Also, i have a feeling it’s Maggie Kyle who was in the cell at the end there 😭.
