I feel like I keep repeating this statement again and again: that Charlie Higson has done it again, has somehow managed to reach the darkest corners of his mind, and pulled out another horrible masterpiece. And yet he has. Higson has introduced a level of evil in this world that we haven't seen before. The amount of detail he keeps throughout the series is sickening, especially due to its already sickening nature.

The Fallen continues to be one of the most psychologically interesting and dark books I have ever read. The pure terror most characters feel feels incredibly realistic and brutal.

Charlie Higson seems to have done it again. This book, although so far less tragic than the last book, continues to be terrifying and powerful. Kids forced to operate on each other, teenagers going insane and setting a plague on each other, etc. The series continues in its dark, realistic way.
