This series continues its trend of darkness and incredible plot twists. In a completely unexpected move, Charlie Higson has reintroduced a character from several books ago, whom we presumed dead. And yet he has managed to pull this off in a comprehensive and believable manner, demonstrating his incredible writing and world-building skills yet again.

Again, this series continues to be an incredibly engaging yet cruel read. Every single time I open the pages of these novels, the stories of hundreds of kids, each crafted to be lifelike and emotional, flood out. The complete and utter destruction of society, measured in these novels, is so lifelike and yet so desolate that they are addictive to read.

An incredibly helpful book so far. Howard Marks, a well-known figure in the stock market and finance community, lays out the steps to becoming a good trader incredibly simply, with easy-to-understand examples that even an amateur investor would understand, and referencing real-life scenarios and memos he sent to his hedge fund customers that are incredibly specific and equally as helpful.

Leandro Narvaez is on page 446 of 502 of The Fallen (The Enemy, #5)
The Fallen continues to be emotional, dark, and dreary. The overall theme of complete and utter hopelessness in this changed world continues strong throughout these chapters, especially with the deeply moving and emotional mourning of many losses and the intimidating creeping of insanity on one of the characters.

The Fallen continues to be an insanely thrilling novel. Throughout the entire series, bits of information have slowly chipped away at the mystery of the illness; however, even more mysteries take their place. There is so much that we do not know about this world, and Charlie Higson has clearly created this series with that in mind: full of intrigue, violence, and darkness.

I feel like I keep repeating this statement again and again: that Charlie Higson has done it again, has somehow managed to reach the darkest corners of his mind, and pulled out another horrible masterpiece. And yet he has. Higson has introduced a level of evil in this world that we haven't seen before. The amount of detail he keeps throughout the series is sickening, especially due to its already sickening nature.

The Fallen continues to be one of the most psychologically interesting and dark books I have ever read. The pure terror most characters feel feels incredibly realistic and brutal.

Charlie Higson seems to have done it again. This book, although so far less tragic than the last book, continues to be terrifying and powerful. Kids forced to operate on each other, teenagers going insane and setting a plague on each other, etc. The series continues in its dark, realistic way.

The Fear continues to be extremely realistic and brutal. During a fight, more of a massacre really, one of the characters whom we have known for 2 whole books died in one sentence. Another character, who finally finds some sense of happiness, gets gutted in 2 sentences. If I had one word to describe this series so far, it would definitely be brutal. There is no other way to describe the constant fear and massacre.

The Fear continues to advance the dark, unforgiving feeling of the last book. Like the last book of the series, new and old characters are killed off, no matter how well the author wrote them. However, The Fear, unlike the last book, explores the author's concepts on how children in this horrible world would create governments and work with each other to defeat the enemy.

Charlie Higson continues to surprise me with how quickly he kills off characters. Even though the book centers around children, the overall darkness of the series does not reflect the protagonists' age at all. The series so far is very interesting, and Higson's ideas on how life would be for children without adults, especially in a crisis, seem very realistic and well thought-out.

So far, this is an epic continuation to an already epic book series. The first chapter vividly describes the maniacal thoughts of one of the characters, who was infected with the mysterious sickness infecting every adult. New characters are introduced, creating even more new factions and relationships. The overall vibe of the book is similar to the first, but there is now a sense of teamwork over the darkness.

The book now seems to be moving too quickly. Half of the original characters have died, and almost all the newer ones have as well. To be fair, given the nature of the situation, this is probably realistic, but some characters that I feel had a lot of potential were killed off. Hopefully, the book gets a little deeper later.

This book is somehow managing to get even more thrilling. With the addition of new characters and the deaths of several old ones, new friendships and stories are discovered. However, because of the nature of the situation, these new friendships may end up as a catalyst for even more misfortune.

Amazing book so far. It has a perfect balance of violence and adventure, and the inclusion of potentially supernatural powers in a World War II-era adventure makes the book all the more thrilling.

Good so far. Very descriptive in its horror, although said horror is thrilling and entertaining. Although I think a different country from the UK would be more entertaining, it still works. Overall, still entertaining.

So far, this book is darker than I thought. Although this book is the second of the series, it makes sense without reading the first. The concept of a zombie-like virus without the virus spreading, only a pre-defined group that cannibalizes any living being they find, is very interesting. Although it seems less plausible than a regular zombie virus, it is a lot darker, with there being no hope of saving the victims.
