I for sure can say that I learned plenty of new things about the history of autism. So far, the book answered my question of why autism is so much more stigmatised than other "disorders." The neuro-affirming perspective from which the book is written is suuuuch a fresh breath. The writing is so rigorous that there are so many details. Everything is thought out in depth.

Indeed, framing the autistic experience (and the assessment procedure) in a neuro-affirming way would save so many people from a life of thinking that there is something fundamentally wrong with them. And I am GRIEVING that the ADHD equivalent of this book doesn't exist. That ADHD still has "deficit" in its name...
