Finished book 1 of 2 (each book has two books!). An easy 5 stars. Tolkiens work with dozens of interconnected backstory’s, and world building elements are just amazing from a technical level, but the sense of reverence the language gives these events make them emotional and in many cases melancholic (the vibe of a once ethereal world falling to darkness)
