My patron ?? mais pitié au sein même d'une phrase non verbale, choisis entre les deux jsp mon patron ou my boss, c'est vrmnt ridicule like ça me sort VRMNT de ma lecture j'arrive pas du tout à prendre les personnages au sérieux. Il fout tellement de français inutile par paragraphe je switch de langue pour me plaindre carrément c'est trop

the prose is of course very good but some of the writing quirks annoyy me. Two french men talking to each other, the lines are switching between written in English written in french or both at the same time, ig both at the same time would make sense to make the reader understand they're talking french to e/o but this mix and match just makes it seem like they're alternating between languages which makes no sense

Damn was the French really that bad? I admit I don't remember (but I also only vaguely understand the language). When you speak multiple languages is when you catch authors slipping smh

The french isn't bad on its own like it sounds natural, the author obviously speaks it well but it's the way it's used that can be bothersome, switching to french often for words of bits of sentences that could have remained in English makes the characters sound really artificial to me. I feel like this could have been linguistically pertinent if the author included words and expressions with a meaning that's hard to translate for example
