The world of beauty pageants as a motive for murder, that's what drives this book. Unfortunately, I think I already know who the murderer is. The other case involving a son abusing his mother is disturbing. I'm considering a DNF of this book, not because it isn't written well, but because the subject matter is really bothering me.

As all of Angela Marsons Kim Stone novels, this one is well written, but I'm not enjoying the story. I don't really care much about the mystery and besides Kim Stone's team, all of them are unlikable.
