Seldomly have I hated a MC more

I am the throes of an emotional CRISIS. Damnit! Ann, you got me again.

I’m beyond shocked. How is it that every promising book I pick up turns out to be a dud?
Which pill— I really want to know— is so powerful that it can almost immediately reverse the effects of a severe allergic reaction? It’s such a microcosm of the complete lack of care with which some subjects are thrown in. We vaguely point at casual subjects like racism and misogyny… but what for? WHAT FOR?!

Two major sore spots for me: lying and public embarrassment. Unfortunately, I am currently having to suffer passages that describe both in equal detail. Not fun.

Can you tell I’m impulsive and in the middle of a book I’m dreading to pick up?🥲
Well, why start 2026 in a bad mood? Hopefully I’ll enjoy this as much as Liang’s other novel. So far so very good.
