smth about this book…. the way it manages to be worlds away yet so relatable at the same time. i read one part and actually felt a weight lift off my chest bc it felt so good to see that experience in someone else’s words.

i’ve never had any interest in autobiography’s before. i just picked this up because i’m such a fan of michael k williams’ performance in the wire. but my GOD. the writing really makes you feel like you’re there. the fact this man could live such a traumatic life and still dedicate his entire platform to lifting others up is just amazing to me. i’ve never been so upset over a celebrity death.
