Was actually hoping the eye doctor would make me wait in the waiting room longer today so I could get a deeper foothold into this book, but still managed to whip off 25 pages in a few minutes. My eyes have not worsened since the last six-month check up, for all you who were asking. (crickets)

Yes. Finally hearing things in Bukowski in this book that I've wanted to hear in his voice and in the writing. Seems to have a grander dimension. Onward.

I'm sure it seems like a minimal accomplishment, but the only time in my life I've ever fainted was at an eye exam. Those blasts of air in my eyes triggered some kind of intense anxiety, and I woke up on the floor of the waiting room. I still can't touch my eyes to put in contacts. You faced my fears today.
