K suggested that Emily think about her life with Pepper as a point in the center of a spiral. As the spiral grows, you end up looking at the center from farther and farther away; with each successive turn you're another layer removed. That thing in the middle of the spiral will never disappear completely, but each additional layer will act as a kind of insulation.

It looked just like the room he'd fallen asleep in last night, but Rowan had woken up in rooms that appeared identical in the past.
He leaned back and stretched, and while he did, he felt behind the large headboard. His fingers found an indentation a small letter X that Rowan had carved into the wood using his fingernail.
He was in the room he'd come to think of as his primary prison.
He called it The Hopper.

Meechum-crossed lovers 😂/😭
"The person who abandoned you wasn't me, or, at least, wasn't the iteration of me who took you to Ikea for ice cream."
Emily could no longer control her breathing. She could feel herself about to hyperventilate.
"I explained all of this to you in Greece," Pepper continued, "but the Emily I met in Mykonos must have come from yet another dimensional stream.

There was a pretty good chance there might only be one bed.

The fact that this was not written by a woman and/or romance author has me cackling like a crazy person

After all this polar bear inception, I've put down the (physical) book, just to get an in game ad about a game with polar bears that I had never seen before 😂

I DO REMEMBER this silly game, it means I've lost! I was winning at it for at least a decade now 😂

"Okay, so, in simple terms, the point of The Game is to avoid thinking about The Game."
"Seems simple enough."
"Does it?"
"If you're playing The Game, you have to let everyone know when you lose."
"And you lose whenever you think about it?"
"Exactly."
"That doesn't seem like a great use of your free time."
