Something that didn’t compute in my brain until I left, was how much of an anchor she found in Marcus. Her alcoholism wasn’t dangerous to her health because she had him to distract her from the bad thing. The ending of book 1 has me terrified because that kind of betrayal can really take someone out especially coming from the dark place that she was in. Dang. Let’s do this.
