i liked the page long chapters of each of the characters confessions to the priest, it was very insightful of their character and how each of them view confession

i like all the litter connections of the people in the books, the contrast between a wealthy american Daniel and the poor spaniard Ana is beautifully displayed as their connection intertwines, I want to visit Spain, it’s so sad Franco made the Spaniards fear connection and the truth so much

Ana and Lorenza are sisters in Madrid, working for a Hilton, their parents were killed for being republicans that ran a Montessori school. Rafa is their brother who works at a slaughterhouse and cemetery. Who’s Puri and why does she work as a caregiver turning a blind eye to the atrocities of Franco?
