I’m really liking ch 9 so far bc i definitely can relate at this time of my life with feeling the need to code switch and feeling like an outsider or foreigner in my place of work or school. I’m glad to see Michelle not only addresses its existence but also counters it by saying how exhausting if can be to code switch but also challenge the need for it in society to begin with.

Truly loving the book so far! The last chapter of the retrospective reflection was very relatable. The initial desires that she wanted for her and Barack’s relationship of wanting that sunset honeymoon suite in Hawaii, this image of picture perfect vacation love and the reality of how Barack showing who is and affection in a different from what she ever knew was very interesting. Good interesting :)
