I do have to give so much credit to the history of this book. It’s something to learn from and shows how deceitful to the world Hitler and the Nazi regime were :( I never knew of the extent they went to deceive the world until this book.

Just a note to say: it’s disgusting to think that Germany held the Berlin Olympics as a way to hide the atrocities they were committing behind the scenes.

I'm ready to move on from this one; I'm too bored and not in the mood for this genre right now😭

Who knew rowing could be turned into something so poetic.

I also would like to mention that although I feel bored by this book (so far), I do love Joe's story and I know it is inspirational and beautiful. I think my problem is that this book reads as a third person perspective. I would much rather prefer if it were in first person (multi-POV) perspective which would make it feel less like a history book. The length of the book is what gets me too.

I feel bad that I am not really into this book. It reads more like a history book. No doubt it has good and interesting content but it just feels boring to me; I am not enthralled like some others may be with this one. I never DNF a book so I am pushing through.

Boy… is this book GOOD. It is hitting home to me right now with everything that is going on politically in the U.S.

I've had this on my reading list for a while now and I'm finally reading it. The only reason why I haven't is because of the length and topic. This was a highly rated book turned into a movie which is why I am interested in it! So, here we go!
