So, in some effort to understand this novel a bit more, i perused some reviews. The critiques i have seen are probably what i will come away with, but it isn't all bad. I enjoyed this last scene between Kai and the whale.

But yes, it does lack some of the explanation that is in a book 1 or standalone. This was claimed to be a standalone but it is labeled as a series now? Ha! 🤷‍♀️

Hmm. Started off good, but now there is a bit too much exposition and not enough action for my taste. Plus all the names and dates are getting a little confusing and still haven't been exactly explained. Anyhoo, will keep trying, since it is apparently a good book.
