I like hearing about how some of their more iconic songs were created. it's interesting that Gimme Shelter wasn't written with the intention of being a protest song of sorts. I also was enjoyed his discussion on the discovery of open tuning (though I don't exactly know what all of it means) and how that changed their music. so much good music is made by experimenting and not following the rules!

the way he talks about women makes me feel like I'm being hunted for sport a little bit but fork found in kitchen I suppose.
I'm learning a lot about different kinds of drugs and different high-class art people in London in the late 60s and I'm only paying attention a little bit to all of that. I'm mostly reading this because I want to hear about his beef with Mick.

going to age myself here, not sorry about it. but it’s amazing how physical media was almost a currency, at least back in the early to mid 60s. I think we take for granted how much music we have access to now via Spotify. it almost makes it feel less special?

what a guy. I’m always blown away when I think about how Keith and Mick knew each other when they were kids.
I feel like Keith painted a nice picture of postwar England in these first two chapters and I’m excited to read more. his understanding of his childhood is so interesting, he’s endured a lot of stuff people nowadays would find absolutely unacceptable. he also has nice words about being an only child
