files from the director, one saying bio: expo to TA contam is particularly suspicious, control theorizing that she may have had a plan, abandoned protocol. a meeting with grace, who continues to hold power over control. she knows that someone is messing with her access to Central and attributes it to control, which is really the work of the voice. someone ransacked her office, but not control.

mosquito that control did not crush, the director's phone in his bag that he did not remember putting there. painting over the words on the wall, setting up the talismans of his father's sculpted artwork, chess pieces. sorting through files related to the director, many documents scraped from her home, receipts. putting together information about the director.

the white rabbits let loose continue to breed, the border, an archway, crawl on your stomach staying close to the middle, like some sort of bizarre dream, walking in the aquarium underneath murky water, near and far all at once, open expanse and uncomfortable closeness. a light emanating that pulls control in. ghost bird, found in the parking lot, surprised to be alive. the rumor, the director had gone in alone.
