Arch Sult doesn’t believe Bayaz is who he claims to be but instead insists on him being a well informed spy. Albeit a brave one. He sends glotka to investigate. G for his part is annoyed that he has forgo his investigation into the bankers. He realizes adult had all the info up front and pointed G into the direction he wanted him. G felt like a pawn but is atleast glad to be on the winning side

J goes on about how scary, and distrustful looking Logen is. We get our first real discription of his appearance although it’s from the pov of a pretty boy noble. He is 6’6”, scarred as all hell, eyes unlevel. Overall a scary dude. J thinks it’s funny that he keeps looking around in awe and is stunned by a water fountain and “pipes”

Logen, Bayaz and malacus take on the big city!! It’s dirty, smelly, crowded, people are dressed in rags or like peacocks. Yet Logen is the weird one…..
They go to a shop that sells theatrical garb for putting on plays so that people actually believe B is who he says he is. L is stunned by the beauty and filth of the city.

West after getting smoked in a duel by Jazel demands he stops seeing his sister. J has become more and more smitten with her even yelling at a friend for being around her. Doesn’t seem like he is going to follow that

His clothing was very cheap. If it hadn’t been they might have caught him. This gives credence to the idea they had been played by someone.

They called off the duel, which I missed, the Norman said they would send three signs when the fighting would begin. And in fact they sent the heads of three men in charge of camps to the general. The general asks West to be in charge. All

Glotka is given command of band of me. Sent to arrest the head of the guild. When they get there people are burning files and generally running around. He makes it upstairs where the head has a rope tied around his neck sitting at his desk. He monologues about how they are not the real criminals and to look to the banks, the closed counsel, the schools. He jumps out if the window hanging himself.

Jazel has been training very hard recently, about a month has past. At an open council meeting the attendance is much higher than normal. Then typical people who skip are all in attendance. This was the moment that Glotka and Arch Skul unveiled their….research. They drag the prisoners out and they have an obviously rehearsed, confession under duress. The king has agreed to disban y he merchant guild

She attacks him with a knife but he seems to be moving while standing in place. He must be a magi. He informs her that there are hundreds more men coming including an eater? She tries to run off into the desert but he convinced her to let him guide her past the men. By past he means inches past them yet somehow they don’t see it hear the pair. She almost kills the men but shows restraint which makes the magi smile

Ferro is burying her “freinds” after they were attacked by soldiers. They were run away slaves and criminals. 10 men came at them all together and she managed to kill 6 of them with her bow and a mother 1 with her knife. As she is digging a hole on the outskirts of a desert a man speaks to her. She feels it should have been impossible for him to sneak up on her yet here she is. She send 2 arrows at him but miss

All the sudden everything wooden erupts in flames. The archers in the woods are charred, the men holding spears are caught on fire, it’s an intense heat that melts everything it touches. It subsides as quickly as it started and Bayaz is now very tired. Blacktoe, wounded, dying is put out of his misery.

WOOF, the last chapter was soooo dope. The fight seen was intense and the magic so cool
