A very interesting perspective so far.
The Cuba chapter has captivated me the most as it tells the perspective of the natives.
They wonder if those same proud pillaging Christians go to the heaven that they preach.
They wonder if the God that the Christians worship is the shiny yellow metals that can be found in their lands

The atrocities enacted by the conquistadors onto the Amerindians are so brutal. I have to wonder how the average European would have felt about this treatment. Only the few rich and powerful had an incentive for this colonization; I look towards today and think of the average American’s desire to invade Venezuela or Greenland
