My first book by this esteemed author, I'm finding it to be a mixed bag. I decided on this one since a high minded English teacher in a movie used a profound quote I've yet to encounter. Regardless will have to see if it's worth continuing.

This narrative requires an appreciation for third party POV that drags due to overuse of back story and details...the story of a Saturday in the life of an English neurosurgeon whose life is peculiar and then some.
