The latest topics I’ve learned about from this book include Mario Kart, the Bonneville Salt Flats, the art of Hiroyuki Doi, whispering, viral meningitis, and the plague. This book is both a gem and an enigma.

It always takes me longer to get through nonfiction than fiction — even though I have been thoroughly enjoying the nonfiction I’ve been reading this past year.

I learned quite a bit about Kentucky Bluegrass this evening: including that there is more lawn in the US than there is Ohio, more acreage of grass than of Italy. Why do we have these things again?

I continue to be immersed in John Green’s nonfiction writing — the man is a genius in his own right. This book is highly informative, completely random, and absolutely hilarious.
