I agree that the main problem with screens is the opportunity cost, but the bar shouldn’t be just that sleep and social activity is healthy. A bored child may start reading books, which has been shown to give a boost in school. Yes, screen time doesn’t have to be all bad. But I think I want to have some control over when and how much - and no screens in the bedroom

I liked the first half best, which presented research results and science based information. The chapter on spirituality felt more like the authors opinion, and some of it makes sense, but it felt different and less relevant to me.

Some of the points on the need for risky playing I also read about in «Risikofylt lek», and the shocking amount of hours teen spend on their phones which leads to so little sleep was also touched upon by the series «avlogga»

I feel like I’ve read about the increase in depression and decrease of social interactions before, might’ve been «stolen focus» or «skjerm barna» (by Norwegian author Maja Lunde). It’s a bit shocking that this research exists, but yet we as a society allow our kids (and ourselves) to be exposed to social media.
