Dolores’ voice is doing all the work here. King has created a persona who is funny, sharp, fed up, and carrying this swollen anger inside of her. She’s technically at a police station confessing, but it feels more like she’s finally had the floor and isn’t giving it back. Sometimes, King does female rage exceptionally well.
