Sando bros please don’t crucify me… what Amaram did is objectively not that bad when compared to what any other lighteyes officer would have done AND outside of betraying Kaladin, he has treated dark eyes far kinder than he “has to” given social convention.
I think Kaladin just needs there to be one bad guy he can point to as being to blame for all the shitty stuff in Kaladin’s past.

I do have to give him credit- Sando is good at covering his bases / laying groundwork for things to matter / make sense later. I guess that’s also pretty easy to do when you have hundreds of pages of exposition to work with, though.
