A long awaited for but ultimately very disappointing interaction between Jake and Copeland. Jake seems to misunderstand or otherwise be uninterested in the plight of black folk and how it relates to his struggles under capitalism. He and Copeland can’t agree on the proper steps to upend this regime heading towards fascism.
Jake sounds off on capitalism again and explains that we can’t even see the worse of it

The way that these characters look at Mick is kinda ehhhhh and I don’t really know how to feel about her character in general.
I’m liking to see more of Harry’s character. A kid talking about being unable to focus on their dreams because they’re worried about the world feels like a tale as old as time at this point.

So cute for Singer to go and get a radio to put in his room just for his friends to enjoy

Poor little George. So unfair for him to get in trouble for what happened with baby. Also not a lot of singer this episode

Jake is becoming my favorite character quickly.
It’s interesting to think that the notion that christians would crucify Christ and have been bastardizing his ideals as far back as at least the early 20th century is cast interesting

The line that the grandpa gave about wishing Jesus would come down and make him white was so tragic

It’s so interesting that they describe Mick, Jake, and Copeland as all visiting Singer to speak in the silent room.
I feel so bad for singer for all his love for Antonapoulos

Very interesting interaction between Portia and her dad in this chapter. I would expect those roles to be reversed but it’s interesting and telling of the times

Interesting character exposition we see from Jake this x chapter.
