Chapter 9 might be my favorite chapter so far. And the most powerful. This comic is a masterpiece. The art. The big twist of Laurie’s parentage. Laurie’s optimism. Dr. Manhattan being tired of humanity. His belief in fatalisim. His scene at the end while the panels pan out of Mars and into space. It’s all beautiful.

RIP Hollis Mason. The original Nite-Owl. That was brutal…

I’m on chapter 8. It’s pretty difficult to give my thoughts on Watchmen so far. It’s very dense. I definitely need to give this a reread, and read the in-book supplementary material, in the future. But it’s definitely great.

Chapter 6 is Rorschach’s backstory. Holy shit… this guy is fucked up.

Moloch put Rorschach into the palm of NYPD’s hand, then killed himself. Someone tried to assassinate Veidt. Laurie is now living with Dreiberg.

We get more of Rorschach being a crazy, unhinged asshole. And it seems he’s the “The end is nigh” guy.

Issue 4 is superb. It’s about the attributes that made Jon Osterman into Dr. Manhattan. The accident that transformed him. His ability to constantly see the future. His ability to control particles with a single thought. His detachment from humanity. It’s all great to read through.

Finished issue 3. This is a Dr. Manhattan. He’s been outed as a walking cancer factory. He’s left Earth to be on Mars. He can’t relate emotionally or sexually to human beings. Instead of expressing emotions he experiments with particles. He’s normally a calm cucumber but during his interview he lashed out. And it seems like he was once a normal human being before becoming Dr. Manhattan.
