“I love you, Natalya.” Evie touched the silver Chain pendant around her neck. “I love you more than anything.”
Smiling down at her, Natalya put her hand over Evie’s. Over her fingers that were touching the pendant. There was nothing wanting in her features then. Just wonderful joy. “I love you, darling. I’ll love you forever. I promise.”

"It was intoxicating to be allowed to do this. To be trusted by someone as guarded as her. By someone who had once lost her freedom to trust being misplaced."

“I love you, darling.” She kissed Evie. Softly at first and then with demand.
“I love you too,” Evie managed between kisses.
Nothing had ever felt more right to say. Nothing had ever felt easier. Never had Evie been so sure about anything.

"Love. Bright and pure and earnest. Without a hint of fear. Without a hint of doubt. Streaming out of Evie, echoing in Natalya’s body, was relief, joy, and genuine love.

“Forever,” Evie whispered against Natalya’s lips. “I’m yours forever.”"
