Chilling descriptions of bomb raids and mental institutions. But also sweet love stories, making love work within the boundaries of the war, or to know when it has to be given up. All three girls, Mab, Osla and Beth, experience love and heartache. Interestingly, prince Philip actually had a Canadian girlfriend named Osla working at Bletchley Park, which this character is based on.

The voice in the audiobook is a very good fit, she sounds just like one of the main characters (a tiny bit posh). I like it a lot so far, the small drops of Prince Philip are great. The historical context set a thrilling stage, and the girls have clear (perhaps slightly caricatured) personalities.
